Oblivious

A hushed silence on the ship we sail
Your arms push my back against the rail
It is that inevitable moment of truth
You only see in movies as a youth

The sunset meets the ocean
I feel your growing emotions
Whispering words I’ve long to hear
As your arms draw me near
The world stops as two hearts beat
Alone we stand in this retreat

Dolphins nearby do their freedom dance
I stare, lost in a turbulent trance
The tear in my eye must speak
Oblivious, you wipe the sting from my cheek

Marina July 2000

It is a blessing to have wings for words, and passion in pen

I like this version, I don't remember it from before. Must be losing it.

Thanks for posting this one...I didn't have the pleasure of reading it the first time around, I guess...wonderful write, Marina!

sp

to be with you...
I've tried to hide my passion,
but it's just no use...
piece by piece I lose it
when you walk into the room...
