I know this one is not great but i had to put something up!  Oh well read it.
I’m the only person it seems to matters to
Imprisoned into that of which I cannot escape
I watch afar waiting for release

My every waking hour spent constantly seeking
More often than not the light fades before I am ready
Mile after mile as the light fades so does life

Goodness has become but a shadow of the dark
Greatness a caliber of material wealth
Ghastly as it seems we all accept it for societies sake

Social outtalking and ritualistic days
Splashing off to work for measly pay
Spiritual speaking is now the sinful way

Now I sit here writing this foul piece
Neglecting what needs to be said and
Never reaching for the door

I’m the only person it seems to matters to
Imprisoned into that of which I cannot escape as
I watch afar waiting for release

There's a peace inside us all
Let it be your friend
It will help you carry on
In the end
There's a peace inside us all

I very much enjoyed your style of writing in this.  The frustration and almost helplessness of watching what life becomes was excellent.  I hope my comment does not offend.  I liked this poem very much.
