Another Night's Fade

Within the darkness, the gloom
from the evenings myst
dampens my spirit, as reality sets in
and the mind crawlers begin their search,
leaving a residue of fear, for me to snack upon.
Thoughts, images, shadowing me,
creating the walls that keep me from your touch...
Possessed, aching for the blending
and unfolding of time, seeking that oneness
to embrace me, yet provide a barrier for night thoughts
of you to rest upon my heart...

I frame you in my dreams, the wantings consuming me:
to hold your face in my mind,
allow my lips to caress yours,
urging me to yield unto you...
As I fade into the night's journey,
darkness hides the pieces missing from my life,
binding me in silence, reigning my past to the fore,
suspending me, depths within my depths,
as the shades of the night are pulled
and I await the new day to peek through
and rise me to another level.

~Wynter
