Deliver me from the evil sinner
who with greedy fingers & hungry eyes
searched for me when young & tender
unwary of those both cunning & wise

Deliver me from the love & hate
of the father figure, drunkard, friend
who easily won my trust but later
used it against me as a means to an end

Deliver me from the nightmares followed
the phobias, stomache ahces, headaches, fears
the missing places in my past
that haunted me through out the years

Deliver me from the sacrifices
of more than half of all my years
the unexplainable troubles & worries
the depression, the mania, & endless tears

Deliver me from the unbelievers
who blamed me for the unspeakable
a child of five, unwilling reciever
of his wretched desires, the unthinkable

Deliver me too, from my own mother
turning her back when I needed her most
the one I'd sacrificed my life for
& 'til this day, haunted by it's ghosts..

Deliver me from the pain of limping
upon two halves as yet not whole
a woman, child, both just beginning
the journey to unity,  my ultimate goal

Deliver me from the evil sinner
who's yet to pay for his dirty deeds
for as long as I hold this hate within me
from his clutches, I am not free

I beg for deliverance, deliver me,
I have the power inside to be free...

This is great (and that is my honest opinion)... I really enjoyed it, though it had a gut-wrenching touch of sadness to it.
*hugs* my friend.

the missing places in my past
that haunted me through out the years

Deliver me from the sacrifices
of more than half of all my years

Oh wow! So wonderful and powerful.  This must have hurt so much to write. I know the feeling of these lines: "Deliver me from the evil sinner
who's yet to pay for his dirty deeds"
Indeed it does haunt you throughout the year, doesn't it?  Brilliant piece that has taken a respectable amount of strength to write, I applaud you.

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

Thank you Xenox, Sgreyb, Swampfaerie, Dragonpoe,Anonymous Albert, Blaec, & Dark Angel, for taking the time to read and comment on this work. The poem itself was not difficult to write. Rather, it was the posting. I wasn't sure whether or not I could, but by the time the poem was finished, I knew that I would. Perhaps the side of me that remained the frightened child is finally trying to grow up.

Thank you all again,

the pain others inflict, if we
could rise incredibly high, far above the anguish, until it could not touch, the vulnerability of who we were!

May you find peace, writing is a worthy first step!  powerful story, delivery, excellent!
