The buddhists believe in soul debt, Karma, the prices we pay, And occasionally I've wondered, What would my soul debt be at the end of the day? I've sinned it's true, I'm the first to admit, BUT has all the good I've done, Outweighed it? Have my many goods atoned, For the occasional bad, be it big or small? Have I broken down the evil, Have I knocked down my proverbial wall? And what of you dear reader, Any light bulbs shining here for you? Is your soul debt alive and kicking? Or does your heart remain true? I tend to agree with this philosophy, What we give out good or bad, Comes back times three, Then I have to ask how will this affect me? *War produces one thing - Cemetaries. And in cemetaries there are no enemies!* |

Thanks for this great question, Isis. I edited my response to it though, Chris crawls into my skin too much lately. It did stimulate a great deal of thought. Thanks. "The poet is the priest of the invisible." Wallace Stevens [This message has been edited by coyote (edited 03-26-2001).] |

Very interesting my friend. . . I would say that it does come back to you. . . perhaps not directly. . . and perhaps not in this life. . . but it does come back. . . So, we have to remember that we must honor and respect others. . . even those that would attack us (which isn't easy to do). . . so that out lives will be all the better. . . Thanks for this one. . . -------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Hello again. The Enlightened One would probably say that it's always there, the soul debt. And we must work at it every day. This is a very thought provoking piece. I enjoyed it. [This message has been edited by mirror man (edited 03-27-2001).] |

enjoyed the read. Eventually everyone must face the price of their sins, some live it out daily, through hardship, some may not until the very last moment. With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. |

Thanks guys! Glad you liked it! I believe we all pay the fiddler for the good and the bad eventually. So in the meantime we have to make the effort to forgive, hold no grudges, and be really true to ourselves and others etc. So glad it got you thinking, for it is important to do a little check every once in a while!!! isis *War produces one thing - Cemetaries. A good subject Isis and worthy of much discussion. I'm sure many of us have considered this on numerous occaisions, well I have for sure. Haven't found the answers but I'm still looking, take care! "I've done all the dumb things"....Paul Kelly |

Isis, As the others have said, it is a very good question. One that sets the standards of my life. Yes, I do believe that our actions have repercussions and they do come back on us three fold. Do we all think about this? Probably not as much as we should. Without darkness there is no light |
