Slowly the sun sets
As the day comes to an end
The beautiful colors sparkle
Warmth it does send
Watching the sunset
Knowing it will be gone
Never being able to touch it
Yet feeling the vibes so strong
The sadness over comes you
The loneliness over rides
Tears drop from your face
In comes the high tides

but then comes .....

The stars that sparkle
So ever bright
Each one smiles at you
Giving you lasting light
Wishing upon the first
And the many that seem to fall
You wish with all your might
Hoping they hear your call

No person is worth your tears, and the only one that is ...... will never make you cry

Hi Mags! This was great! I liked how you added a healing element to it. Aren't the stars just wonderful. How many times I've wished upon them. Thank you for sharing this piece.

I love that - wanting the stars to hear...I wonder if they do?

Nice way of imparting hope into the whole sordid mess of life.
Ha, I'm not depressed..
This was great Mags, truly enjoyed.

Living in the hills I have a great view of the stars, and the sunsets are great, like this poem, you have expressed it so beautifully.

I have to agree with G.A. I like how this poem moves from bittersweet to hopeful. Another great one!
