Seven bodies lying in the valley of death
Two faces each in they signatures of rep
Makes fourteen souls a piece with no more breath

Seven levels higher then the mountains of Seth
Fourteen Dimensions below Osseous of Death
What do you know about the mysteries of life?

One will never know the mysteries of life. This is very well constructed.  Leaves a feeling of inadequasy. Maggie

Matt - interesting write indeed

I must admit, I am wondering how seven makes fourteen souls and the only mountains I know of are in Wyoming or Nepal.  The Osseous referring to bone or maybe underground as in Hell, yet why fourteen dimensions.  What is the 7 and 14 tie here?

Just my take, please elaborate

Matt,
Brilliant.  I am not even going to begin to explore the depths of this tonight, just add it to my library and look upon it a million times more.  Great read, and even better write!

"Seven bodies lying in the valley of death
Two faces each in they signatures of rep
Makes fourteen souls a piece with no more breath"

I think i sort of understand what you are saying here.  There are seven dead bodies laying in the valley of death, each of them have two faces.  So that leaves fourteen dead souls.  To ME this line is saying that for every person there is a second side to them.  Maybe it represents the good side and the bad side, but essentially to me, the fact that there are 14 souls in total means these 7 had two completely different sides to them, so different that it would result in a fracturing of the soul into two parts.  Or perhaps it the second head represents the other side of the bodies and when they died the good side and the bad side of their souls seperated.

"Seven levels higher then the mountains of Seth
Fourteen Dimensions below Osseous of Death
What do you know about the mysteries of life?"

To me this basically represents life and death.  The good halves of the souls go to the places above the mountains, where good resides.  On the other hand the evil of the soul goes to "dimensions below osseous of death"  and osseous means bones.  So essentially the evil side of the soul goes to a place of hell, where bones of the deceased reside.  7 is also a signifigant number, often surrounded with mystery, throughout history it is a number that has heald signifigant meaning.  In the christian bible the world is made in 7 days.  So 7 could represent life.  14 could essentially be the evil of 7 the oposite of 7.
So this poem to me was extremely deep.  It represents both life and death.  I don't know how close to what you meant this to be eor, but that's what i got out of it.

sorry everyone, i was out of town for a few days, left ya something to ponder...lol...anyways Mr. Hatter, you pretty much have it, except the whole hell and bible part, i am not a religous person, so to me that is not what it ment, but you had the right idea, of where the souls are going, some sould get to lead a better life after they leave there vessel of energy for that time others lose their energy through whatever process they encountered, but you can neither create bor destroy energy, but the souls with decreased energy can not continue on so they are forced into another deminsion...but other than that pretty good my friend pretty good...i am impressed...great decifer...

I love that poem, it's grand.  I'm not a religious person either.  Although I often use things from the bible to prove a point.  To me the bible is a good fiction story.  Great poem, I'm glad i got to decifer such grandness.
