Myriad of Unkown Places

0 posted 2002-10-28 08:02 PM

It was of no consequence when it matters to me,
But when it matters to others, it's the mountain
In their sights and they have no other thought
To break that mountain and blame someone else
When they find that granite doesn't break
So easily.

It was fine, my desperation, my hollowness,
My sorrow, my chasing feet, yes, that was wonderful
And "unmattered".  So the bitter melancholy
And spite at desertion should matter so much more now
Than mine did then.

And all I see is blame and accusation,
And turn around and find the door.  That is what
It always was, and never what I sought
After the temptations that dripped in saccharin
Smile from false pen.

Is my absence any wonder.
It never gets any better.
