Death sweet death
Please take me now
And rid me of
This curse called life
I’ve paid my dues
Yet still somehow
My days are filled
With pain and strife

I’d turn to friends
But have not one
Nor any love
That I can see
So from this earth
I choose to run
For I can’t take
This misery

Death oh death
Extend your hand
And wrap me in
Your cold embrace
For only you
Can understand
If life’s a game
I loose the race

Of this world
I grow so weary
Watching tears
Fall to the floor
With all I’ve done
For love and fury
No one cares
This I abhor

Death dear death
Please raise your cycle
And slash it down
Upon my head
Now in this life
I feel no tickle
Only hate
Lies in my bed

Cold and lonely
Here lay I
As all my feelings
Fade away
I only wish
That I would die
So as not to face
Another day

Dear Webb:
I really enjoyed this piece... take a look at the poem I wrote called - Waking up Again.  It's in this forum, you might enjoy it, it reminds me a lot of the poem you have here.

"I only wish
That I would die
So as not to face
Another day"
This is a very powerful line, no doubt my favorite... we all want to be released... but how do we know if what's on the other side is any better? How do we know that there's anything at all?  I personally have hope there's something better (nothing can be worse than this, right?), and I guess this is called Hope... and it's this same feeling (hope) which keeps a lot of us here in this earth...
Sorry for the long reply... I really enjoyed your work and look forward to reading more of you...
Kisses,
Succubus

Succubus: Thank you, I'm glad you liked this piece. I did read your piece and found that it had the same tone as this one. I'm sorry that you feel as I do, it's a terrible feeling. Hopefully, one day, things will improve for the both of us. Thanks again.
