Conflict

Despair
Existence is fleeting
Our light flickering
Twisting in the winds of circumstance

There is no life but this one
Governed and restricted
By cold laws
By incomprehensible mathematics

Driven to madness
Feeling more than rationality will allow
When a look into my lovers eyes
And when I speak to God

A most excellent first post! Concise, but deep. "Feeling more than rationality will allow..." Great poem!

No one has ever read my work until now. Although I dont think of myself as much of a poet, its time I inflict my work upon the world. Thank you for your praise.

I like the part about incomprehensible mathematics, though most are to me.

M^4 x i^3 X k^2 x e
