What happens...

When ends have no beginnings,
circles feed upon themselves,
and orbits fail?
When words no longer form,
imprisoned thoughts beat endless drums
to no avail?

When sand has swallowed water,
light has tunnelled into sand,
and sand is dust?
When death itself is starving
because birth can never reach
its final thrust?

What happens then?

Or did we exist at all?

Fascinating!  Your subtle rhyming with the smaller lines is quite impressive.  If I could offer any critique, it would be to add more rhyming.

Other than that, the poem is quite good, almost prophetic.

No, we don't exist. This is all just a terrible dream, one from which we can never wake...LOL!

I liked this, thanks! :-)
