This may be my final breath,
so I suppose I can
try not to cry.
It's closing down.
This is where I give up.
I've never been good
at goodbyes.
After a while,
you begin to learn
it isn't always right
to try new things,
and even if you're going to
stubbornly keep it up,
maybe you should learn
when it's time to recede.

I do this to myself too often.
I misjudge, mis-step,
slip and start falling,
and it seems I don't care
who I grab on the way.

I've never been good
at goodbyes.
And some things
just never change.
