sitting
staring blankly

thinking

the lights are on, but no one's home
they went out for the night
into the darkness of what once was
and what might have been

not planning for the future
but reminising on the past

pulling each star from the midnight sky
one by one
and inspecting carefully every inch

stoving back into the dense closet
in the basement
with its demons

I really like this. There's a lot of emotion hidden in the subtlety.
