I don't know what to say
For I haven't forgotten the past
I want to be with you
But I don't know how

I've been told once before
Get over it
But to this day
It still haunts me

I know I must let go
But I don't know how
I know I must find closure
To this deep dark secret

I know I must forgive
What has been done
I know I must face those fears
Until this my heart can not heal

And as we progress in life there are so many more things that we have to "get over". We never do really get over them - they just go towards making us who we are (I think).

Welcome to DP. Your first *post* has described life in general to me. Letting go is not the easiest thing to do but I know it must be done.

Great poem. True to every word. "Get over it" quite possible one of the hardest things anyone has to do. I've often find that the ones you have to "Get over" are the ones that touch your life the most.
