ADULTHOOD!

Take everything you once knew,
& throw it away.
Forget milk mustaches, mud pies,
seeing the light of day.
Forget about tire swings,
candy rings, & battered jeans.
Forget all the old memories,
of what being dirty means.
Forget about Kool-aid,
& playing with friends.
Think board meetings, business suits,
deadlines & loose ends.
How fun this sounds.
No wonder we rush to grow old.
Yea right! Boring!
This story's been over told.
Not me. no way.
I'll stay forever young.
Teaching little kids,
& having lots of fun.
Get up each morning,
put on my happy face.
To a class of twenty-some,
& little ones' embrace.
Laughing & playing,
like back in the day.
That's how I like it,
& that's how it'll stay!

LOVE ELMO

Good point..why is that kids are always in a hurry to become adults.. I think it the status is highly overrated!

Right On James!! It's not worth rushing too! It's great & everything, but I liked the care-free, no responsibility life better--lol!!   ELMO

I find growing up hard to do.  Knowing you're not going to have all those good times as a kid living care-free and with reckless abandon. *sigh* those were the days which i can only remember now.

Yep has always been my dream also (to teach Kindergarten), since the 1st time I was asked in kindergarten! Now I have a 3 year old nephew who makes it so much clearer to me! I couldn't live w/o being around lil kids, they make the world a much brighter place!   ELMO
