Laughter is STILL the Best Medicine |

I learned such a valued lesson today, One that I refuse to forget, Laughter lightens the mood, And is still the best medicine yet! My parents visited today, Whilst I had a quick job to finish downstairs, And all I heard coming down to me, Laughter of those with no cares. Not that they are without their problems, They are elderly and Mum not to well, But with the sounds of love and laughter, It was as if someone was ringing the bell. Those raised in happiness and with laughter, Will carry that gem throughout life, Those only knowing solemnness and quiet, Will face a different kind of strife. But that doesn't mean we are sentenced, To a love filled or solemn filled ending, We must be the ones to make the efforts or the changes, We must be the ones who are bending. You feel so much when you enter a home, A feeling of light or darkness, The smells of peace or harshness, And from this day on my home will rebound with happiness...... *The greatest warrior is one that does not need to fight* ~Isis~ |

Elmo, Not only that they keep me and my son laughing, but that it reminded me to lighten up and make the most of each moment, and not to walk around unsmiling - almost intimidation people like some I know.... Isis |

Ya know! I think it always has been, and always will be the best medicine. We just need to be reminded to laugh once in a while! "Let me pierce the realm of glamour |

So true! Laughter is more comforting than tears. But of course, I let go of lots of tears when my eyes get too sad or dusty. Then, it's on to something to lighten the day and night. Thanks, Isis! |

Very true! Laughter is needed. I once heard someone say 'If you can't laugh, what's the point of living?' I try to live by that, and I hope others will too. If we had more laughter in the world, it would be a much better place. Excellent poem! Due to circumstances beyond your control, you are master of your fate and captain of your soul. |
