Sweet lavender… purple scent
Lures a heart to a straying land
Push the door and there it lays
Sleeping phantom of yesterday

Silent entrance with a quivering faith
Slipping beside an enchanting face
Fingers caress his ruffled hair
Engulfed thoughts in a wildest race

Open your eyes phantom and you’ll see
A temptress with her lust unredeemed
Touch her, kiss her and taste her skin
Take a chance thru’ a fervent dream

She teases him with a soft melody
Gentle whispers across his shut eyelids
An almost awakened sleep with a tossy flip
Alas, temptress, time has ticked

Sweet lavender… purple flame
Burning in a fainting scent
Leaving with none to stay and stray
She sneaks away with a stolen breath

I enjoyed this poem, but maybe it is only because I wear lavender.  who knows.
