You follow the crowd and do what they say-
But do you ever do anything you way?
In some ways, your like a shadow.
Not doing whats best for you,
Just doing whats considered cool.
You realize your being a fool.
You can follow your heart
And still be accepted.
You can do what you want
And still be liked.
Break free from the crowd
And dare yourself to remain proud.

Hey! I feel privelaged to be the first to reply! I love this poem, it's an issue I feel really strongly about and will touch upon a lot! Thanks for posting, keep doing it! I love this, I'm aobut to read the second!

Yes, definitely a very important issue.
You did a great job of expressing this greatly underexamined element of human life and behavior.
A very good idea for a first post.

This was really good, and I can really relate to it. I used to be like that, just following the crowd, listening to other people. It's terrible, you gotta be true to yourself. Welcome to our humble poetry home!!
