Depression

Sinking into the depths of oblivion
Tired, battered and disillusioned
Trying to find a grip somewhere
To wake yourself up and start to care

Drowning this way keeps you exhausted
But you have to keep up the charade you started
Keeping people away
When you really want them to stay

Then you feel like something's wrong
Cos everyone, even your friends are gone
Pain starts seeping in
And your heart bleeds from within

Then you realise its not worth the pain
All the hurt in you's driving you insane
So you start feeling better
Cos you realise its happiness you're really after

ditto to San, great poem.  Made me smile.

I, being the morbid goth that I am, don't find it too uplifting even with the 'happy' ending. But it was a wonderful poem, and as much as I hate to admit it depression is like everything else in the world, it doesn't last forever. Oh hey I even made that sound semi-sad, wow I am at my best today...anyways keep writing and keep posting.

Very good poem................Happiness.........that's all that truly matters.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Yeah, "its happiness you're really after".  Great job on the poem

This poem truly has broken my heart to the utmost limits of insanity. It's power was so intense to the point that i felt as if i was the writer and feeling that way also, but then i pulled myself out before it was a bit to late. Thank you for sharing it was wonderful
