I Will Kung Fu You

I was born in a small town in the Guangdong Province of China.
According to the government policy I am an only child.
There's only one of me thats all.
No big brother to toss a ball.
No little sister with baby dolls.
Some have brothers yes it's true
but sister are very few.
When I was eighteen the Communist party enlisted me.
I wasn't one of those elite college students unwilling to serve my country.
I am honored to do all they ask of me.
One day I found myself in the middle of a bloody affair.
My place of duty was Tiananmen Square.
These students were protesting for human rights.
What gives them the right to think they're right?
Two Hundred Thousand peasant troops with tanks stand with me ready to fight.
They say the order to fire came straight from Deng Xiaoping
but it was our commander that ordered those bullets to sing
and the world would soon know of the slaughter our bullets bring.
We crushed their tents
rocks were thrown.
Those students are out of line
we'll crush their bones.
Four hundred, no eight hundred students would soon die.
"Tell the world" was their battle cry.
Many died and many cried
but that was the day Commmunism died.

Kung Fu away sir.....It was a indeed a sorrowful day as have been many in the past in most nations.  Sometimes the right to stand up and be heard can get way out of control and it is never easy to see lives lost in the battles for freedom.  You have expressed your words well in this one.

Were you really there and is this a true life experience for you?  I would be interested in knowing if you don't mind sharing.

If you find yourself stranded in a storm
...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together

Like Mark I too am curious to know if this is true based on your life experiences?
Either way it reads well..a bit sad but very well written.

God Bless all that were involved and most of all those that had lost their lives in the name of freedom.

Thank you Mark, Victoria, desperado and Mr. Magoo...no I definately was not there...I am reading a very interesting book called "China Wakes" by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn and it lays out many of the horrors of the communist government and has some first hand eyewitness accounts of a struggle for freedom...I definately sympathize with the young Chinese students and I am glad my eyes have been opened to this oppressive government....take care...James

James that was a terrible time and it saddened me very much to think that young intelligent minds would be destroyed by such ancient and uncivilized thinking. Mind you I don't know all the ins and outs of that type of government, but when you start killing your youth for thinking then there is something wrong with the picture. What we have may not be perfect but it's better than that, no matter how you look at it.

Thanks for your response Charisma...in many ways the show of force in Tiananmen Square was unexpected...the Chinese government usually respects the students...the future leaders of their country...James
