The shade has been pulled down tonight
No longer can we see her light
So hard to understand this thing
Where life and death convene on thee

Life is such a fragile thing
With turbulence we live and sing
To pacify those things we need
Remember love is but the seed

A seed we planted yesterday
No longer here to shine our way
We keep with fondness in our life
Remember all that was her might

No way to question why things are
There are no guides to see the stars
We’ll muddle through this passage way
And hope with help we’ll make the day

So trust that there’s a bigger plan
That here we live is just the land
And after all we suffer here
The reasons for my life appear
And help me comprehend
The source of our beginnings
And the reason for its end.

Spiked~

What a beautifully tendered piece, my friend.
Love - yes, indeed it is the seed -
planted in our hearts to grow ...

'So trust that there’s a bigger plan
That here we live is just the land

Am pondering these thoughts, poet.

Wow, such an insightful, well-written poem on the confusion and inquiries of life. Yes, love is the ultimate seed, and we must walk on through the obstacles, to make this seed bloom and complete our hopes and dreams. Love and light will overcome all! Excellent poem, my friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I liked the metaphor in the title here, Rich. Which reminds me, it may just be time for me to put my curtains back up. Nice write.

Thank you Serene and could be a good idea stop you from walking around the house with faces pressed against your windows.

So please tell me Richard, why is it I feel as if I have just heard a lovely eulogy...for it sounded quite clear as if you had lost a loved one...

but ah, the way of poets, and the way of their read, right?

Death is like an unanswered question.

"A seed we planted yesterday
No longer here to shine our way
We'll keep with fondness in our life
Remember all that was her might.

And we will remember....Thank You.
