and so the stars fall.

i could pretend to cry
but the words don’t match the movements
of your mouth these ordinary days and i’m
doubting these after-all words; these silent praises
and you wept in your shell on this blue-hung morning
and i keep thinking, butterfly, that you’ll fly to me one day
but i am just a glowing heart, royally veined, paper with its
holes punched and yarn strung as i wear it around my neck
and your bells ring true and your lips sigh in my praise
and this is the last verse of solemnity in your opportune
departure i fear will envelop me tomorrow evening.

when you’re gone i will curse my velvet skies for trying
and you’ll know you’ve bent my wire backbone into a delicate curve:
i wasted so much time over moonpools and bleak-eyed evenings
wondering where i was without you. even now i try to regain some
sense of familiarity for those pale-skinned perspectives
and your heart is nothing now. nothing more that your calendar
and your course of events, your allure to solitude,
and your rhythmic antipathetic hunger
for faint love.

this was a very heartfelt poem, love is still an emotion sometimes it portrays us even when we try to turn away.

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps
