I crossed over the bridge of enchantment < !signature-->to the garden of my dreams sweet gardenias scented the night wisterias cascaded like waterfalls of budded rhymes Upon the blossoms of my dreams the dew of ecstacy In the middle of a wish a wish that touched my soul I tasted and I touched and I felt your sweet caress little did I realize I would trip and fall Fall from the bridge the bridge of tenderness Oh how it glittered glittered with trust the bridge of enchantment a span of wishful stars I waded in the pools of temptation only for a short time swimming within your eyes drowning in fate to come cherishing breathless love each tender kiss from your lips I crossed over the bridge of enchantment back to the pillow of my dreams only to have the span collapse over quicksand, painted soft joke blue before I could kiss you one more time A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 01-19-2001).] |
