A Basket of Bliss

Fineness is the thread of life that’s woven into silk
Sweetness is the nectar drops of honeysuckle milk
Delicateness is painted onto lily petal's white
Joy is soaring on the edge of eagle wing in flight
Exuberance is plunging down the waterfall of rage
Strength is hammered into granite’s eons of its age
Love is branded on the face of a white and chestnut mare
Adoration is in the heart of the foal whose in her care
Beauty is the lense of the eye capturing a rose
Wonderment is anywhere imagination goes
Splendor is our lust for gazing into midnight’s sky
And all that shines before us is so quickly passing by
If I could somehow gather a basket full of bliss
It would contain your precious love, and in it, all of this

Elizabeth Santos

======================

what a perfectly beautiful way to start my day ...
a sonnet by Liz ... poetic melodies to sing in the sunrise ...
just so lovely madame poetess

When to the sessions of sweet silent thought,
I summon up remembrance of things past ...
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought.

Elizabeth,
Instead of a basket of bliss
How about a basket of kiss?
You deserve it for this wonderful poem.

A delicate, tender piece from your heart. You pen love so true and wonderous. Beautiful sentiments and the last two lines end it perfectly.

Take care,
Melissa
