The  Lingered  Wish
~~~
Ten  thousand  pounds  of  solid  rock
crash  down  against  the  floor
The  beaming  light  of  yesterday
is  blocked  for evermore
The  loss  of  several  happy  years
collapse  a  fragile  mind
A  heart  destroyed  before  the  dawn
leaves  bitter  tears  behind
~
Ten  thousand  dreams  of  days  to  come
just  dust  clouds  in  the  rain
All  scattered  o'er  the  sea  of  tears
where  hopes  are  cast  in  vain
The  treasured  sights  together  sought
forsaken ...  waste  away
Regardless  of  the  lingered  wish
That  quickly  fades  to  gray
~
Ten  thousand  blissful  days  engram
are  lost  for  evermore
The  spark  of  love  gives  way  to  lack
and  seals  the  heavy  door
Emotions  froze  to  deathly  state
evade  approaching  day
But  hearts  encased  in  solid  stone
never  bleed  again  ...  they  say
~~~

Wonderfully written poem.  I enjoyed your images and message a lot.

So beautiful and so sorrowful, extremely well penned. Sad to say, but even I have allowed the bitterness of love to leave my heart encased in stone, I do relate.  I just love that you're posting your oldies, but goodies for us again

Take care,
Melissa

Painfully beautiful. I am a fan of rhyme, and this piece holds true to the reason I favor it so! Wonderful write here.

Thankyou Melissa ... this same thing happened to me many years ago

dragonpoe ... thankyou
I tend to prefer the rhyme and meter challenge, when writing
