This is an old poem from like last year or something...it's funny I wrote this cause, I 've never been in New York....I don't really have time proofread cause, I have to get ready for work...anyways, enjoy!

I'm silent and discreet,
driving down these violent streets,
in an infamous area of New York,
relaxed and cool as the silent breeze
looking at divine pearls, fine girls
and soaking up the scene.
Later, I pulled my car to a stop
in a nearby parking lot,
and put three quarters in the meter
so, I wouldn't draw a ticket from the cops.
As I walked down the street,
I observed how proudly, how rowdy,
these New Yorkers can be
as, there's loud music everywhere,
and people dancing in the streets, without fear.
I stopped to look at a bunch of gamblers,
and realized how a dice game,
is similiar to life's game,
as we strive and gamble,
for the right aim,
even though our targets,
are not quite the same
as some, end up with lives,
that's beautiful enough to picture in a frame,
while some maintain scriptures filled with pain.
Anyways, prostitutes were on the corners,
waiting for the next car to walk by
as the crack feigns, were begging for money,
because, they wanted to get high.
The hustlers and were pushing groovy cars,
flashing colgate smiles, looking like movie stars,
with egos and confidence way up high like Mars.
There was hell-bound teens, around fifteen,
up in the streets speaking slang,
devising supreme, unprofound schemes,
while selling crack, reefer, and weed.
It's sad when kids this young,
is involved in the drug game
because, thery're a part of our future
that's really beginning to look kinda lame
but, were progressing with a minor change.
The police were strolling
and patrolling, the blocks,
searching with any signs of crime,
like fierce and hungry hawks.
On the first avenue,
there was a bunch of aspiring rappers,
crowded in a circle called a cipher,
as they verbally battled one another,
to see who's the best rhymer.
Feeling hyper, I hopped inside the cipher
and kicked a wicked freestyle,
that made everyone raise their eye brows.
They gave me my props and then I left
as they told me, "man, you are blessed!"
On second avenue,
to my happy view,
there was a block party,
which consisted of colorful faces,
people of all races,
as unity, is what the brick wall traces
as there were loud speakers, dj's, and mc's,
that had the party jumping in a frenzy.
Everything in the neighborhood was fine
as everyone was having good time
until, gun shots rang out,
and somebody went down,
as everybody panicked and screamed,
as care vanished, leading to a wild stampede.
Soon, we heard the sirens of the police,
hopping to catch the vicious beasts,
a product of these malicious streets,
who shot this man in the head,
as the paramedics arrived to the scene,
and took him to the hospital,
where he was soon pronounced dead,
as the news quickly spread
through the city,
and soon it grew, to the six o' clock news.
I walked away with my soul colored blue,
feeling cold as my brother's flu,
knowing that it's just the New York way vibe,
that made me depresesed, as a holocaust jew
as today, was just another day in life,
another song to the album of, urban street blues.

Very interesting tale! I must say, you described New York quite well at some points. I went there last year, and it was a wonderful town, though i was in the safer parts of town. A very good tale.

For someone that's never been to New York you sure have created quite the vivid images to bring to comparison with the views of the world....good write!
