How sweet it was,
to be seen,
to hear delight
and my friend scream,
"THERE you are!
Where HAVE you been???"
and dancing hugs
between old friends.
I was so moved
I shed a tear--
he gripped my hands
"so glad you're here."

The club was different
from recall
The bar was round,
not near the wall...
they added windows,
acoustic tile
and Palm Beach Pink
and dark green wild.
So many nights
I'd passed in there
so many ghosts
to glimpse,in air...
I wanted just to meet the band,
delight of ears to hear, "Hey STAN!
Who is this, that you've got with you?
Bring her here and introduce..."

And so I met then everyone
and all their girls in gathered fun.
So began familiar night--
fundelicious--spark of light
shoring up my very soul
an alchemy of memories gold.

And yes I danced
and laughed real loud,
drinks appeared in line for me
soon I hugged new friends sincere
and someone named me "atmosphere"...
and called me sweet enough to eat.

And together, all- we danced,
and swung our hair beneath the fans
stories within tales unfold--
for just one night I was not old.
No one's mother, no one's wife--
fundelicious taste of life.

"Tell me you'll come back again.
No cover--and the drinks unend...
and if there's any more like you?
Tell them that they're welcome too."

So yes, tonight I cried alot--
remembering me that I'd forgot
and now the part I like best?
They deemed me a
"professional guest..."

(I had a GREAT time tonight!!!)

Thank you all! and now I am off in search of my coffee. Yowser! Just a word of caution? If you have ever been treated for whiplash? You SHOULD cease and desist all headbanging activity effective immediately. OW...(now where's my Lodine?) serenity exits, muttering to herself...

Absolute thanks for taking me to your reunion with you! What a wonderful experience...to go back to being young, yet with all the wisdom life can bring still intact. I'm certain that's why you had fun, you let yourself be you all the way! Well done poem.

When I saw your title, I immediately was inspired to a poem, the one called "It's a Dilly." I wrote it quickly before reading your poem, so you know, especially when you read it, that is was only your title that sent me off. Heh-heh, it's nothing like this fantastic piece of memory-making!

Thank you Virginia...I loved the way you summed that up for me...much gratitude for the read...and honored to be an inspiration, even indirectly. HUGS.
