Take it all back.
Let me be.
Let me go.

Take my job back.
Let me be free from bills to pay.
Let me go back to the time when my allowance could buy everything I wanted.

Take my car back.
Let me be calm.
Let me go back to sitting in the back, wishing I could drive.

Take back this harsh reality of a world.
Let me be free from violence and hatred.
Let me go back to when butthead was the worst name in the world.

Take back the TV dramas.
Let me be free from more emotions.
Let me go back to when Saturday morning cartoons ruled all.

Take back the relationships.
Let me be free from heartbreak.
Let me go back to when boys still had cooties.

Take back this complex life.
Let me be relaxed.
Let me go back to when life was as simple as a Twinkie or a Ding Dong.

Take back this world.
Let me live my life.
Let me go to my own world, where cars can fly, and animals talk to me.

Take it all back.
Let me be.
Let me go.
Please...Please...

...and let me climb back on my dad's lap...
...and let my mom braid my hair again...

Ah yes, sunshine.  That's one of the joys of life that I had forgotten about.  Thank you for the reminder.

MYST, so many times these things can cross our minds...
The thought of JUST TAKE ME BACK TO WHEN THINGS WERE OF SIMPLIER TIMES just as how our friend Sunshine has said above...
Back to the days in the comfort embrace of daddy's knee and mommy's bandaiding our wounds to heal...

Thankyou for the read...

Yes its like you want a new car more than anything in this world and then you get it and then you get that monster car payment for the next four to five years and you wonder what was so wrong with the old one...it was paid for and it still ran and its too late to take it back...James

Yes, it all seems like it was so wonderful.  And just think, all we ever wanted to do was grow up.  We wanted to walk to the corner all by ourselves.  Then it was crossing the street, a friend's house.  Now, all we want to do is go home, and go back to a simple time.  Thank you all for the wonderful feedback, but I honestly doubt that boys never had cooties

I feel strong vibes coming from this peice, and just reading it makes me long for simpler days. Wonderfully written. I truly enjoyed it.

Ah, if only we could go back to when times were simpler.  Good work, I enjoyed!

I really, really liked this!  Reminded me of my birthday one year when as a present I asked to be able to do whatever I wanted to do...for just that day.  And now, when I can do whatever I want---everyday--I can't think of a thing to do!!  So funny.  So sweet.  Thank you.

So very very true.  And what a world that would be.

To capture and live a moment is truly living

Oh ... and splashing in mud puddles
making mud pies
flying kites
climbing trees
believing in Santa instead of Visa

Wonderful !  Just wonderful !
