I watch the rain splashing against the patio
pooling up upon the concrete
and myself
sitting upon the step
How it runs down my legs in droplets as if in search
before finally reaching the soil
where it soaks in to nourish
And how it seems to recognize
that neither I or the concrete are open to it's gift
Only the soil, the ground,
that soaks it up in thanks
and produces life in return

Everything is so unreal
My mind is in a state of confusion
But I can't deny the way I feel

Thank you for the welcome! I will look forward, Krawdad, to reading your poem should you find it.

After years of searching, I have found I am nothing more, nothing less...I am in truth Just A Woman after all.

Nice to read you! This is very specific imagery here, I liked that very much!
