HUMAN TRUST
Michelle Krysalis Bartley

You can ask me for a shoulder,
To cry on when your sad,
Ask me now to lend an ear,
Of this I would be glad.
Ask me for some good advice,
Or ask If I would know,
Any tips and tricks my friend,
That would help you grow.

You can ask me for the time of day,
My watch is in good repair,
Ask me for a couple bucks,
Of this I'll surely share.
Ask to sit inside my car,
If you need a ride,
And if you need a place to stay,
Well, here you can reside.

You can ask me how to spell a word,
Though times I may be wrong,
Or ask me if I know the lyrics,
To your favorite song.
Ask if I can help you move,
And if we have some luck,
I might even know someone,
Who has a pick-up truck.

You can ask me for a helping hand,
Should things go all array,
And if you need someone around,
You know I'll surely stay.
But don't ask me to trust you,
Because for me, it's very hard,
My rule of thumb has always been,
"Trust all, but CUT the cards"!

oh boy you said a mouthful in these words, but trust is real. (I think)

"When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey."

Trust is hard to give after it's been betrayed a few times... I enjoyed the light-hearted look at a very real quandary! *S*
