Under the stars upon the wind

"Help me!" cried The Different One,
but no one seemed to have heard.

"Stupid," came the reply.
As tears burned in The Different One's eyes.

"Why?" screamed The Different One, as he shook with anger
"Because I said so," was the answer that couldn't be any plainer.

A stranger turned to The Different One to beat him with a switch of hatred.
Society, at this time, turned and closed its racist eye to the hateful beater.

The Different One now loathed the world he was brought into
and in return it loathed him.

To The Different One they turned their back.
Just because he was black.

Welcome to Passions. I think this could apply to anyone who is different. A poet ought not to be Voiceless, but should speak in defense of the truth, as you have done.

To love another person is to see the face of God.

Welcome to our world...the colour of ones skin is a sad reason to judge someone...isnt it wonderful that Passions is colourblind?

Firstly, welcome to passions! I enjoyed reading your thoughts here, I've been blessed to have worked with many people who've been labeled as "different" for various reasons. I often find they have the truest hearts of all. Take care!

Superb!!!

This is excellent. . . I love the way that you made it The Different One nameless, but all names. . .

Welcome Voiceless, truly you are not. . .
