Your Sword
By: Noah Eaton
2/19/01

Your pen is your sword, filled with ink injected from the heart
Your rapier of reason only you can hold, sheathed safely in the lifeforce scabbard
May this weapon of justice serve you well, embroidered in loves light
May the force be with you, trust your instincts and shed away at the darkness, and you shall become a true poetic master

Always keep the tip of your pen on the paper, as you begin to expand your horizons
Lightning strikes as pen hits the paper, as you fall into your imagination
Emotions quake, new worlds emerge, gods are created
Dreams project on through every sentence, tales told as they expand into each other, both factual and fiction

Let your mind soften in peace as you write of love in all it’s glory, as you make the sweet surrender through heavens clouds
Recover the essence of your first kiss, your first dream of love, your first relationship
Translate every sigh into a line, every kiss into a stanza, may all the sweet words flow
Share your masterpieces to your love and fall in love all over again, or save them up for when you first meet your love, for that first special moment

Get all the sorrow and pain out of your system, when you share your gloomier side
Write of your troubled thoughts that keep you awake at night or keep you down during the day
Let the thunderclouds in your head eject of all cold tears, thawing your frozen fingers through every expression
May we, your friends, sympathize with our thoughts, arching the light of a rainbow inside your head as the clouds slowly break away

If you dare, don’t hesitate to share your darker side, foudioyant storm of lightning thoughts erupts, filled with hopeless and agitated thoughts
Overcome thoughts of death and horrors of the world, in which we’ll help you conquer
May we help pull you out of this mess, put you back on solid ground in a world of love
May we cleanse your personal hells and nightmares with faith’s vigor

Create a world of your own through every knit and stitch in your fantasies patchwork
Let your dreams be your first draft, as you paint the pictures on through language
Hold your sword high at the palm of your head, drawing away peer pressure outside of your head
Only reaching for the stars set you free, and only believing in yourself will build the bridge

Speak your heart out in the realm of rectitude, may you be the judge of what’s right
Share your opinions on the government, humanities, nature, and everything in-between
You are part of the future, you can make a change, don’t waste your opportunity
You cannot entangle your own thoughts in red-tape, there are no restrictions, may your sword courageously scream

Your pen is your sword, write on
Use it wisely, my friend, never take it for granted
Your Majesty is the mainspring of your sword, opening the drawbridge of your heart
Unleashing the cavalier within you, lighting wisdoms words you write from your mighty prolific hand…

Thank you Noah. This is excellent! I appreciate your author's approach to the many benefits of using the pen as a sword. Well written!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
