there is just no way I’m sleeping tonight, my darlin’,
because I can’t get that smile out of my thoughts.
free verse runs through my head...
leaving the scent of you in its wake.

I walk the empty street, searching for some release
but finding none because you are still in sight.
how can I look to the heavens above...
you’ll only be staring back into my eyes.

how do you expect me to get any sleep, my love?
every minute, I am engrossed in thoughts of you.
I can’t even turn on the car radio...
you are in every note that plays.

please, my precious one...I implore,
there’s got to be a way to rest.
this heart is so complete
when images of you dance across my view.

your love grows mercilessly in me by the minute
while sweet reverie fills my soul with desire.
oh, my dear heart, what am I going to do...
all is futile...I have found my everything in you.

everytime I close my eyes, I see your face, I taste you on my lips...
every night I fantasize that I can feel you on my fingertips...

very very  beautiful..I use to feel that way...

now when that happens

I can’t even turn on the car radio...
you are in every note that plays.

I only feel tears rolling down my cheeks..each tune a memory  that was "real" and now each song one I wish to forget...

***and that's over 35 years of them so listening to the radio is very very hard...

Snowpants,

"I can’t even turn on the car radio...
you are in every note that plays."

"oh, my dear heart, what am I going to do...
all is futile...I have found my everything in you."

I just love those lines, along with the whole poem. They fit so well in my life as well. I swear you people are following me around
