Hey all, I decided to take a project on, I'm going to write seven poems, one in English, one in French, one is Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, and one in Norwegian and post one each day. This first one is a mixture of all seven, so I guess the total number will be eight. I'm not fluent in any of these languages, (not even English, really) so if I make any mistakes...I'm sorry! Feel free to point them out. Here we go!

Write me a poem

Write me a poem in English
speak of the flowers in may
tell me of Shakespeare and
Juliet
and please promise
you'll stay.

M'Ecrire un poème explique en français
sur la langue de show d'amour
me suzette
du café et crepe
et me dit vous êtes béni d'en haut.

Escríbame un poema en el español
con una especia del juego latino
de la lujuria la guitarra
y cante Pronto

Escreva-me um poema em Portuguese
aí estão tão muitos coisas
a dizer quando sou longe de
você você perde-me
sou eu no seu coração a permanecer?

Scriverme una poesia nell'italiano,
la lingua persa di anni di tempo
da adesso quando
abbiamo parted ha lasciato gli altri
ricordano questo col rhyme.

Skriv meg et dikt på norskog
jeg alltid skal beholde det nær
og når jeg tenker på De min
kjærlighet som jeg lover
til skur ingen rifter.

"Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone
I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

Angela, this is an awesome idea! I can't help much with the languages, but I will be readding them. (You'll post an English translation, right?)

This is a great idea! I imagine among all these poets you will find people who can help you with each of your languages. You've set yourself a tough task. It's not easy writing in even one language other than your own. I know because I've tried. I'll be reading with interest.

International is really the key word isn't it....great idea!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

LOL  to be "fluent" in English. . . will we ever be???

I love this idea!!!  As someone that's posted in French and Spanish, it's nice to see that you're taking this on. . . but even I wouldn't have the guts to post in Norwegian!!!

Looking forward to them!!!!
