there ain't no halfway
to saying good-bye
when its time to go
separate ways
a sorta wave is the same
as it breaks my heart
to see you go
even a good riddance
results the same
receding back side view
no there ain't no halfway
to saying good-bye

there ain't no halfway
to letting go
when hearts change
and one decides to beat alone
you can tell yourself
otherwise and
you can keep on waiting
until you die
but when you finally decide
to loose your grip
and take the plunge
into reality
if doesn't matter if you do it
with both eyes open
or one eye closed
there ain't no halfway
to letting go

The two last lines sum this up wonderfully! Well done!

Are you preaching to me in that last verse? *G* Don't you know I'm hard-headed and stubborn and beyond all hope? LOL Seriously... a great big fight full of "I hate you"s may make a better show than silence... but come curtain call, the results are the same whether you get your belongings strewn on the lawn or prolonged silence. Well done... I'm glad you're writing too!!! *S*

Ain't is an easy word isn't it...but it puts a little color into the reality of the situation! I really enjoyed the read!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
