The Candle

A single candle gently placed
Upon the table top it graced
Soon to be fed a spark to light
Romantic notions of the night

Tender glow still plays a trick
In flickering flame from candle’s wick
A heart in love will light the fire
As blazes dance in wild desire

Passion brews within the thick
Of waxes in a candle stick
That ooze and burn the taper’s top
In flowing, falling little drops

A candle’s glow is always fair
Enhancing eyes, entrancing dare
A little flame gives off a light
That lingers there through half the night

And when the wick has all been spent
A flickering love that came and went
Will be remembered by a flame
That sparkled in the clear champaign

Beautiful Liz, beautifully exquisite!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Wow, my dear, this is fantastic!!! What better way to set the mood for this wonderful day! I love it my friend. (But now I have the strangest craving for a glass of champagne......)

That last line is stunning!
