Consequence of Common Sense
Virginia Salter

for every action
an opposite
equal reaction

universe is governed
well by same
wild or tame

common sense
delays, deters
adventures that might occur

adventure
to mountain top
fall to valley floor

adventure
into pain of sin
need I say more?

common sense
a sacrifice
leading to mundane

yet predictability’s
comforting
if it’s all the same

no starlight
in one’s eyes
no adventure
to one’s lips

no calories
piling experience
upon one’s ample hips

to taste of new
can be so grand
yet can leave a painful scar

ergo
much ado
for common sense and you

as to consequence of common sense,
I include the loud refrain,
is to live life as Walter Mitty
safe adventures in one’s brain.

Thanks, JLR.  Ummmm, have you gone by another name?  From your response it seems you've been around awhile but your # of posts doesn't show that.  Curious, I am.

Lots of common sense here, Virginia. Keep the fantasies in the mind...they are much safer there..we act them out, we get in BIG trouble!!!
