Oh perfect knight
In armor bright
Without a crack or chink
Walking on air
Or in despair
You daren't show what you think

The jeweled sword
In rampant word
Cuts others to the quick
While you hide
The you inside
Persona gilt and slick

The plumed helm
Hides your realm
From real life you shrink
While breast of steel
Protects from feel
Inside yourself, you slink

Faceplate that guards
'Gainst living shards
Emotions get the flick
Encased you are
Against the spar
While fighting, masks the quick

The crested shield
You cannot yield
Though grimed with battle stink
Secures your hand
For battle and
Conceals you in a blink

The quest foray
Throughout  each day
Needs you to turn the trick
You battle on
Then you're gone
To hide your light, your wick

The horse of white
Fit for a knight
Like you is covered rink
No one to see
When viewing thee
Can drive to madness brink

Thou perfect knight
With fist of might
Be careful not to fall
To gain their trust
You always must
Stay on the pedestal

An image bright
Of sheer delight
But hollow through and through
Gladness bestow
Naught else you show
Knight armored image you

...while I believe that the knight has much substance...he is just afraid to shed his armor to show it....

very slick and poignant writing, Kethry, as only you can do....

Kethry...we all wear armor...a defense against the world...against the pains the world inficts...you said it very nicely...how wearing the armor can make you lose parts of yourself...

Sven and Paula
Thanks, this was written for all the people who struggle against the image they present. Sven sometimes victory is hollow and not enough. Paula we all DO wear armor the trickis to never forget the armor is not us.

Deer and Janet Marie,
Thanks, how astute of you to notice how hard it is to give up protections we are comfortable with

ATelamon and dreamkeeper,
Thanks for stopping by and responding.

Be well
Kethry

Kethry dear heart, you already know I love this, because it is utterly utterly wonderful that is why. Didn't I tell you that you could write, didn't I? (Damm ear heart now I can't swipe this one, and there was me plotting treachery and Deceit.
Outstanding piece love as always you have such a brilliant picturesque style

A coat of armor... shields the bearer from much more than the penetration of a lance, doesn't it?... Nicely done, Keth..

Waft every crest upon your destined sea.
Embrace the Wave of Serendipity,
Lest its elusive arcane ecstasy
Refurl with sail for all eternity.

Charisma, Marsha and Beverley,
Thanks for reading I'm glad you enjoyed the images. The poetry workshop says we have to write a love poem with imagery. Now I can't do love... but I can do imagery so this is what my febrile mind produced.

serenity,
Yes it sounded scathingly brilliant at 3am. lol. Thank you.

Nan,
thanks  you are so right and don't all of us need protection in one way or another.

Lady Ollyne,
thanks for the kind thoughts

be well
Kethry
