Hello Passions, this is one of my old pieces  from '99, that I've decided to share with you today...this piece is from my early, angry days as a poet when my life wasn't wasn't going to well and I had nothing to express but anger,  frustration,  and darkness in my rhymes...I revised this by adding new rhymes and playing around with my rhymes cadence and being creative with them.....enjoy!

They're only friendly, when they're in your face
as they pretend, to be your friend,
but behind your back,  it's a whole different case
as, your friendship suspends and upbends
cause through the looking glass,
they're all lies,  false cries,  and deception,
so be careful,  before you're heart gets slashed,
from the lack of friendly connections and affections.
Real friends, don't talk behind your back
and negatively criticize you all the time.
I know for a fact,  that I don't need that,
cause, it will just contaminate my mind,
and let my brain be covered by layers of black,
and let my anger become laminated through time.
Now don't get it twisted,  and miss the specifics,
I don't hate these people because,  God don't hate them.
God loves us all and see us all as equals,
and when God sees,  when one needs help, he tries to save them.
I don't want no friction with anybody
because,  I  just want to get along
but, I realize like Spike Lee,  that everyone won't like me, or my ideologies
and I accept that cause,  I'm mentally and identically strong.
I can't clean these dirty faces,  despite the cleansing my words, eternally embraces
but God can clean them right out,  show them what life's about,
by just touching their souls,  leading and feeding them to the light,
showing them what true friendship is,  and leading them to believing,  that it's right.

i like this, and yep, someone who pretends to be your friend but isn't, can make anyone mad, so you have a reason to be angry, but giving them to God is the best thing you can do....nice poem, thanks for sharing

By far a different view of things. Wonderful none the less. Beautifully expressed. It is amazing that this poetry wasn't posted sooner. Wonderful.

Nathan...this doesnt sound angry at all...it feels like you stepped back from your anger and saw these people for what they really are...shallow and immature...and not a true friend at all...I like this Nathan I like it a lot
