(If humor comes, does that mean healing's on its way?)
****************************

The day I shattered into bits
I couldn't reach my mind -
I only felt the pitted lino,
long deprived of shine.

"Could this be death?" I asked, surprised,
expecting hellish doom.
I'd never pictured random chunks
dispersed across the room.

I sulked in dust and whimpered
at the claustrophobic walls,
till finally, a notion formed:
it's time to end this sprawl!

I swept up all my broken pieces
(all that I could find)
and tried to fit them back in place,
important parts aligned.

The end result amazes -
I can hear and smell and see -
in many ways improving
the original of me.

I guess a lesson could be learned,
a note of wisdom tossed:
when life appears to fall apart -
it doesn't mean you're lost!

My favorite lines:

it doesn't mean you're lost!

Thank you for reminded me that all is not lost.  I will have to add this to my library to read over and over again.  It helps to keep your head up when you are so down.
I think that I'm going to take time out today to laugh at myself.
Thank you for such a wonderful piece.

Love,
Lady

Lary,

May the pieces meld together to form a new and improved you.  This was wonderful.

You took the words right out of my mouth - and wrote them beautifully!

I enjoyed this a lot.  You made me smile, and I feel better already.     It can be a puzzle, putting ourselves back together, but much better to laugh about it than to get frustrated and give up.
