The dark clouds of rain
Mirror my soul’s stain
Blemishing the purest white
Making it black as night

The thunder loudly rumbles
As my conscience fumbles
Trying hard to understand
The consequences at hand

Have I done wrong
In writing this song
I just didn’t see
The way it could be

That time has now past
Laid to rest at last
We see eye to eye
Under the January sky

Years in the making
Ours for the taking
Peace has been made
As animosities fade

I see you in a new light
Sympathizing with your plight
Losing one you love
To death’s cold glove

A feeling I know well
The tolling of the bell
Tugging at your heart
Tearing it apart

I am glad I came
Extinguishing the flame
That burned for years
Causing many tears

You broke the ice
I thought that was nice
Offering me a friendly hug
Sweeping hurt feelings under the rug

From this day on
The anger shall be gone
Leaving behind a seed
The fruit of your deed

What a wonderful, lovely friend you have with great strength.  What she did is so very hard to do.

Sunshine . . . Thank you and that is so very true.  I guess we both realized it just wasn't worth fighting over anymore.

SEA . . . Oh yes, my favorite lines also.

serenity . . . I think it is she who is lovely.  It is easy to accept the olive branch once it has been extended to us.  Thanks to you my friend.

Ethan . . . Thank you very much.  I hope things are well for you.  Sending good vibes your way!!

VAS . . . It is extremely hard to do and I admire her for it.  It was not a friend, but a family member this was written for.  Perhaps some day we can also be friends.  This is a step in the right direction though.

Excellent poem LW. . .

The one good way to end. . . is peacefully. . . and with no thought of malice. . . it's good that she chose to do that. . .

LoneWolf~
Beautiful sentiments.
A gracious gesture of mending.
