Private Dance

He is waiting to read this,
she knows he is….
like a private letter, between them….
he in her world, she in his…

and he makes her want to be his private dancer…

in remote chance
remoter still the dance
but still, for the romance
she takes that stance
he'll stand the chance

and they to take the private dance
that one that won't e'er be seen
he'll call upon her in midnight dream
she'll float to him on wings unseen

to hold, then be held
in grace, be graced
she to smile
into his face
he to grasp
her warm embrace

he to take her up by small of back
and she to feel his shift and tact
his essence she breathes in
her perfume, a transient sin

her dress of roses pink in glow
in sheerest silk her skin does show
and length of limb to hip to shoulder
keeps the room from getting colder

and he in turn, in turn of crest
has worn in dream his very best
her hand lies there upon his chest
in silent beat of love's caress

in silence he reads of this, her dream
in close of eyes, then it seems
she's come to him, again, in romance
to take up this, this private dance
she'll take the stance
he'll stand the chance

for this one, most private, dance

*Sighs* What a dance you weave with your sensual words!  The flow, the flair and the rhyme is perfect.  Just beautiful!

Take care,
Melissa~

My grandma used to say that dancing was the vertical application of a horizontal idea..I think you just proved her right, Sunshine!!

This is a very sensual poem. I enjoyed the expression very much.
