A Simple Man

James Lee
yes that's me.
Simply stated.
Not eloquently.
I desire no tie's or tuxedo's
yet I am the proud owner
of many Walfrido's. (A Hawaiian painter)
I require no filet mignon or caviar
but kim chi and sashimi I do desire.
I lusted for the theatre once upon a time but now a Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts movie will do just fine.
I used to drive my rich girlfriends Mercedes and it was no big deal.  Now I find my red Toyota Corolla gives me the necessary thrill.
My Rolex timepiece was way too cool for me
everytime I wore it seemed like a wonderful robbery opportunity.
Yes I am a simple or as some say a casual man.
I have no desire to climb Mt. Everest
yet when I climb Diamond Head I'll give my best.
And when I write I share the uncomplicated side of me and my strongest desire is for a woman that will simply fall in love with this simple man she see's.
I do believe she has already found me and I am glad because I was searching endlessly.
This woman is truly sweet.
To state it quite simply "in her arms I feel warm and I feel complete."
A simple man should be complete.

Yes a simple man should be complete...this is very well done James....it's funny how all those high flutin things mean very little when it comes to having a healthy body and heart..the simple man has time to sit down and write something as rewarding as this poem...take care...ethome

I loved reading this james..You dont want to wear a rolex in waikiki..i have seen those hookers in action after 930 at night haa..tells them all they want to know. I would rather have pizza than anything else in the world ha..even if its cold ha..Its nice when you get to the point in life where you dont care about impressing people anymore.

from one to another my friend. . . you've always been able to just put it out there. . . I would say that we're rarities in this world. . . and yes, it may seem kind of bold to call myself as such. . . but, it's who we are. . .

great one. . .

Hi James,

"A simple man should be complete"

This line is a winner and the whole poem too, I love your openness and honesty in this piece, very much enjoyed.

Love, Cerenity

Yes, a simple man IS complete...a woman needs nothing more than the basics - and love and respect...loved this.

Loved this James! Excellent, you have
said it all here in that one liner...
a simple man should be complete, and
all a simple woman need is a man who
loves her completely. and it's quite
clear that you love yours   lucky you
both are indeed!
take care

Money sure can't buy happiness and you write about this so well. You share with us a bit of yourself, and the wisdom you have learned.
Good job!
