Listening to every heart

To the both of you…

you're not really gone
you know,
no,
don't think so

hear you all the time,
here in my heart,
here in my mind

conversations not had
sweep along
sweet songs
keep me from going mad

for I fully understand
why you left
early
(too early)
you hadn't even gone
through all of autumn
yet

but when the love
of your life is not
there,
by your side,
how can you still
care ~

you could not

for he was that
and you made a
date with an angel

and had to keep the
rendevous

so when the
illness came on
you thought
children and their
progeny would be
your strength

but he had promised
"till death do us part"
and that was not good
enough for you

it would never be ~

when the stars in
your eyes
were his eyes
when the love in your
heart
was his heart
when his breath
filled your lungs

I cannot blame you
for winning the fight
when the struggle
was to stay alive
without him
after all

so I know you are
with the love of your
life,
as he is with his

and I smile at the both
of you

so please just know

you're not really gone
you know
no
don't think so

hear you all the time
here in my heart
here in my mind

Kari, no you are quite right they are not gone they are there. While there is a heart that remembers them, and feels them they are there with you. Beautiful love filled poem wonderfully written and so excellant. Marvellous work love. Yes I love this one too.

Oh Karilea, this is so poignant...it made me think of my own parents who passed in the same year...thank you for writing such a beautiful poem and for my memory in yours.

Elizabeth, thank you...

Marsha...they were the "once in a lifetime" type couple...and it was beautiful to see...when he entered the room, she glowed...

Martie...I think I am about to the point that I would share most anything with you...thank you for coming to read, and your comments...

If your poem was not enough to bring tears
to my eyes already then your reply to Marsha
would have...to find that once in a lifetime
love and then for you to have it bloom
before your eyes...what a gift they are to
you...and yes they shall always live within
your heart and memories...so beautifully
woven Karilea~

Holly, when I wrote this, I was OK...when I read it here in the blues...I cried...

If there ever was a Prince and Cinderella...they were it...

and the mold has been broken...

thank you dear...
