Listening to every heart

0 posted 2000-12-02 08:58 AM

Searching
          ~*~
I fathom that I'm searching
I can see someone looking in the shadows
Ohhh
that's me outside of me, looking in
          ~*~
it's just there, within my grasp
but I dare not breath
I cannot dispel the air
for fear that
something will disappear
          ~*~
corners, going around corners
hearing the footsteps
the laughter in the distance
a vacant warmth
just eluding my arms
and that emptiness
lying hollow in my heart
          ~*~
it's nearly here, within my grasp
but I dare not blink
I cannot even begin to think
for fear that
something will disappear
          ~*~
if I ride the tornado, will it
bring me to the end of the search ~
or if I board the carousel
will I ride on to grab the ring ~
if I walk through that wall of fire
will I hear the angels sing?
          ~*~
it's well-nigh come, within my grasp
but I dare not wish
I might get what I want, and
fear that
someone will disappear
          ~*~
but if the shadows part
as the sun breaks the horizon's crust
of night and stars, dreams and dark,
will I breath in
touch skin
see you?
          ~*~

I believe I always like what you write - but sometimes, as now, a work of yours hits me with such force, even "I love this" is totaly inadequate. this to my treasure box and top of the heap!

Captivating, utterly captivating!  It has begun an idea for a verse in my mind.  Gotta go write it...thank you for this lovely piece and for the inspiration, too!  Now, breathe, breathe, breathe!

Excellent questions posed here, sunshine...ones that many of us have had at one time or another.

Each of us must find our own answers, I suppose....

Kari, you hold within your soul such clarity, such wisdom that you need never fear, not ever. You shine like a beacon which is why you are pure Sunshine and why you are loved, wholeheartedly. Fly high kid   believe me you can, truly you can. It goes without saying that I'm waving my little flag and shouting Go Kari Go. And I love this one too. This is utterly outstanding work, (trust me, and don't say you don't when I say that, you sound like my sisters   )
Take care

'Deer, thank you for reading...I think I have failed in this attempt to show the reality of a dream, the movement from one place to another in that dream in rapid succession, and when the questions of the day invade our subconscious during the dark...and you are correct, I've not asked anything different from anyone else...and we all must answer our own...but I hope you enjoyed it, regardless....thank you...

Marsha...I trust you...I trust you...{~,^} thank you!...

Thank you Wynter...

Yes, sunshine, I enjoyed it very much...

We don't always have to answer our own..we just have to find answers. Sometimes we have help...
