I Live on Writer’s Block
Virginia Salter

I live on writer’s block
where a zillion words reside
standing at attention
stuck in ebbing tide

many people passing
bringing theme and point of view
and all I seem able
is thinking lone of you

animals go running
prancing or humming
winging on the winds of time
through the tree limbs strumming

yet, the words stand, lifeless
waiting for compose
lingering in the folds of life
in authors do repose

all for opportunity
do the words await
come along and reach out
open wide the gate

invite the words to marching
align them with your will
contriving messages of fervor
cease their being still

Thank you all for reading and commenting.  Glad you enjoyed.

One thing I was trying to do with this, and I don't think it came through, is to also be describing a place...a block where writers dwell...a place where all those things writers need also exist, just waiting to be used.

So far I've not had writer's block, though many would probably say I actually did/do, have because what I've written is purely inane, unnecessary, senseless.  But what the hey...I love to play with words, so putting them down...isn't that writing?
Thanks again, all!!  Oh, rosepetals...my first posts are only as far back as #10, in case you want to go there.  There's one on page 3 of #11, too. That either no one read or no one had desire to comment upon. Cest la vie.

Good work... it can be a great block or an exasperating block, depending on own's interpretation  laughs
