I was worshipped, properly,
every door was open...
each breath was but a dream -
divine - every wish,
obeyed, unspoken.

Lights grew bright at my command -
they dimmed upon my very whim...
I sought the solace, poet's hand,
delighting in the ink of him.

Each utterance I dared to make,
was greeted with the eyes of love.
And every one that I forsaked
waved goodbye with velvet glove.

Trust, sublime - the night was mine -
I ruled, by queenly right.
Lust of rhyme... word, serpentine,
a shadow's romance of the light.

By chance, I gazed into his eyes -
By chance, I touched his hand.
A lizard dance, to my surprise...
A Goddess prayed to understand.

A thaw, the melt, a puddle's ice,
a silver tear of wisdom's prize...
just a taste of breath of life
that sank into a sigh of sand.

Uniquely entertaining...what imagery!

This is powerful imagery.  You've cast a spell with these words, frankly, I'm impressed!!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Serenity...till now I thought I could write about love, but you put me in my proper place, I've met the master. Beautiful, my friend.

Heya S'ren,

I don't so much know about lizards dancing myself.  I tried to teach a Bearded Dragon once, and an Iguana, but they weren't having any.  My girlfriend's cat, however, will dance for footrubs.  And my best friend's four huskies slow dance if you're nice to their paws.

I'm gonna have to agree about that last stanza being the epitomy of poetry.  I liked it so much.  The rest didn't quite have the same effect on me, but man put it all together, and waBOW! Excellent work!

My dearest "Official" friend; this is so lovely in not only it's imagery but in it's uniqueness that could only come from our serenity.  Truely amazing what your pen and your muse can come up with.  Loved it much.
