For Elizabeth and Tony Santos

soft sounds of silence speak
when love is ready for the better of worse
come again and kiss me love
before Death comes with his hearse

hold me close again my heart
as I gaze upon thy face this final time
let me peer into thine eyes
for they do rival the star's bright shine

and at the final end of this long day
through the dark of the lonely night
know we would have had no other way
to share this love so right

for our lives are but a grain of sand
in time's fragile glass
but the love shared by this gold band
eases me now as I pass

so slip, my love, this band 'round your heart
in the knowledge of this love that charted
the heavens and moon, the stars and sun
that forever my love, you'll be the only one

and now that my journey has ended
I am thankful thy heart I befriended
weep not for me my love as I go
for I leave happy, for thy love I did know

Sven,

Touching and heartfelt tribute.  Beautifully written with elegance and grace.

Well well done.

It is not very often that I read a poem that shouts love like this.  Great Job.  Roger

Your words seem to always bring out strong emotions. Tears flow freely with this one while prayers are sent on high. Thank you so very much for the great heart you have.
