A million stars shine down on Earth
To light the way for Jesus birth;
           And yet one star outshines them all,
           Hung high above a lowly stall.
A thousand angels stoop to sing
The coming of our Lord and King.
           Messengers all,they soon appear
           To humble shepherds, "Do not fear!
           It is the Lord who sent us here!"

Three wiseman from the distant East
Seek Him among the sheltered beasts;
           Gifts of gold and myrrh they bring,
           Frankenscense for the infant King.
The shepherds leave their flocks this night
To gaze with kings at God's pure Light;
           His herald of the Devil's doom,
           A babe just born from Mary's womb,
           Yet destined for the empty tomb.

The man and woman watch in awe
As closer to the babe they draw;
           Their eyes are shining with such love
           They cannot see the star above.
To them He is their newborn son,
A gift to seal their hearts as one.
            The others know He is to be
            Messiah, come to set men free;
            A King to rule eternally.

Their task complete, they turn and bow,
Shepherds and wisemen, brothers now;
            United by their joy in HIm,
            Hopeful as the night grows dim
That day will dawn when peace will reign,
His birth will not have been in vain.
            He lies there, still, a Heavenly sight,
            Bathing in the day's first light;
            Our Savior, born on Christmas night.

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

Masterfully done, almost lyrical, this could easily become a carol or hymn. I enjoyed reading it, thanks for sharing.

Regards,
Olias.
