What's wrong?
I've heard quite often
"Nothing," I reply
Damn
What a lie
So many thoughts going through my head
I can't make sense of even one
I'm so confused and don't know what to do
More often than not I wish I were dead
Everybody asks, just to be nice
But nobody gets beyond my barrier
They all buy it when you say "nothing"
Because it's easier
For them to believe you are fine
Than to deal with a problem with a friend
Is there ever going to be an end?

a true friend hears what you dont say..and doesnt hear you tell lies..
speak louder..or perhaps..find your true friends to 'speak' to

I hung around my daughters long enough to know that it had to be their decision to make the step toward taking one of those confused thoughts and sputtering it forth...I didn't leave, nor give up...

but it takes two to make a conversation.
